Saturday October 8th

Good morning!

Devin had an exceptionally good night last night. The nurses were able to remove all of the glue from his hair and scalp, this is from all the EEG cords being attached. Katy said that he really enjoyed the little scrub he got. He was comforted by a fun new addition to his crib. The nurses brought him an aquarium noise maker that soothed him right to sleep.

The neurosurgeon came in and advised that they will be performing another CT scan today and this will determine whether Devin will need a shunt in his brain to constantly drain the fluid. It is likely that this procedure will be performed so his body will permanently be able to drain the fluid. The drain will be internal and a tube will flow to his stomach where the fluid will be emptied and excreted.

During the shunt procedure, doctors are planning to replace the bone flap that they removed during Devin's craniotomy. We will notify you as soon as surgery is scheduled and performed.

Please continue your amazing prayer efforts. Pray that the doctors have God guiding their hands during Devin's surgery and pray for Devin's continued strength to recover from this procedure.

Blessings!!
