HOPE

Throughout this journey, all in which we have been deeply affected we have come to know what true faith and hope are. We watched a tragedy unfold and have witnessed and experienced every raw emotion that a human can feel. Whether you are a mother, a father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent, friend or even a stranger you have experienced and felt as every other brother and sister in Christ has felt. Through tears of joy and sorrow, anger and defeat, trust and mistrust, faith and love we have always been united in HOPE! On the eve of the custody trial we are asking for your abundance of love and prayers for Katy, Devin, their families, the attorneys, CPS, and the judge. We beg that you would pray that the Lord will touch every individual involved and that his WILL be done!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support and we hope that you enjoy the videos below, as they are a testament of GOD's miracle work, and the continued inspiration of hope that we all have within us. Ü
Devin we love you beyond all measure and hope to see you at home with your Mommy soon!

LOVE to you all and God Bless!

The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!"

Prayer Request

Beloved Followers,

We hope that you are all enjoying this blessed time of year and celebrating the reason for the season! We are all so fortunate to have our amazing God as OUR God, and in just one week we will celebrate the birth of our dear Jesus Christ. We all should be ever so grateful for the grace and truth God provides us with and his undying love and sacrifice that he has for us all.

We would like to ask you all, near and far and all across the world (we have followers in 10 different countries!) to hold a prayer vigil for precious Devin on December 17 @ 6:00pm PST! We ask that our brothers and sisters in Christ come together and lift Devin unto the Lord and pray for his continued healing, but most importantly for reunification and that he be placed back into his mothers loving arms! Please remember that Katy has her custody trial with Child Protective Services on December 21st and we are prayerful and hopeful that the system will reunite Katy with her little boy.

Thank you all SO much for your continued support and love!

God Bless and Peace be with you!!

In all ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.

Today!

Hi!

Devin visited the neurosurgeon today and said he is doing amazing! No surprise to all of us!! Ü

The doctor performed a exam and said that Devin's head is healing very well. The swelling has gone down significantly and his incisions are healing very well. He indicated that if the healing and swelling continue to improve then he will likely be able to replace the bone flap in the first week of January. They have another appointment on December 30th and that appointment will determine if they will be able to put the flap back.

They performed a CT scan WITHOUT sedation because Devin is such a trooper. They would normally do a CT scan for a child Devin's age under sedation because they require them to be still, but the doctor decided to give it a try. Low and behold Devin was an angel! With Mommy by is side, speaking soft words of comfort, the few minutes of the scan were complete and he was a perfectly behaved little boy! Results showed that the damaged areas are improving, they appeared to be less dark (for lack of better words) which means they are healing. The areas affected will potentially be able to restore themselves because Devin is so young. With his age on his side his brain will be able to "rewire" itself and the other healthy areas of his brain will potentially be able to compensate for the damaged/affected areas.

Doctors are unaware of the areas in which he may have difficulties. Currently Devin is verbal, babbling, saying Mama, Nana, and mumbling that precious toddler chatter that we all love. He understands speech, can perform some tasks when asked... like giving high fives! He is completely mobile on his left side, and with therapy on his right we are hopeful that he will be able to move those limbs. He is rolling over both ways, trying to crawl and pull himself up! He is eating and swallowing without any problems, sleeping well and cries very minimally! PRAISE the LORD!

We will continue to provide you with information as we get it! Our next BIG milestone is on December 21st. Please pray for Devin and Katy's reunification and that the custody trial will be resolved!

May you all find joy in your days and be ever so grateful for God's grace and LOVE for us all! Have a blessed weekend and we thank you for your support. Thank you to those of you who have shared your inspiring words on our blog. Your positive contributions, love and support are appreciated more than you know. To those who are our beloved followers, thank you for your PRAYERS, positive energy and quiet voices. We hear you and feel you!

Much love to you all!
God Bless!!

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together."

December Update

Hello All,

We have lots to share with you and LOTS of pictures for you to enjoy!!

Katy and Nannie were able to meet up with Devin and his caregiver Ron on Sunday for a community CHRISTmas party. The event is a sponsored event for foster children and their families. They had a FUN filled day! Pictures with Santa, presents, yummy treats, playing in the "snow", meeting Ronald McDonald, sleeping in Mommy's arms and spending precious time with one another.

On Monday, Devin started physical therapy and Gampy (Devin's Grandpa) was able to be at his appointment. The therapist says he is doing very well. They have given the caregivers as well as the family some exercises to do with Devin. Many of the exercises will work on the right side of his body which still remains paralyzed, although they are seeing movement in his right leg and some movement in his right arm. The therapist stated that they are optimistic that he will regain control of those limbs and that they will be able to function properly. Currently the right hand (primarily the fingers) is their only concern. Let's pray that with an increase in therapy and new exercises he will regain movement on that side of his body and God will continue to heal his body and make him well.

Devin's cranial swelling has decreased drastically. His cranial circumference is going down and his body is reabsorbing the fluid in his brain. Devin has appointment with his neurosurgeon on December 9th and this appointment will be crucial in deciding when his bone flap surgery will be scheduled. It will also provide answers to whether he will need the shunt. *Remember in previous posts that if the swelling didn't decrease a shunt was going to be needed to continually drain this fluid.* We are hopeful that it will not be necessary! Please check back in a few days as we will have an update regarding Devin's doctor's appointment that is schedule this Friday.

We also want to remind you that December 21st is going to be here before we know it. This is a very important date! The custody trial that occurred on November 21st was postponed and reschedule for December 21st. This is the day that will determine if Katy and Devin will be reunited with one another. Please pray for their reunification!

Thank you for you constant prayers and well wishes. We hope that you are all enjoying this blessed season and remember how blessed we all are among the hustle and bustle of the holidays! May you all remember the true meaning of CHRISTmas and enjoy the reason for the season!

"Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." (Phil 2:4-7, NIV)

This little guy fell asleep in the car on the way to see Mommy at a visit!

Mmmmmm COOKIES! Nannie was eating a cookie and Devin decided to take a chunk off and chowed down! This was such an exciting moment because he has primarily been eating soft/pureed food and he did so well eating his yummy treat!

Playing in the snow...

Nannie bought Devin a churro and he LOVED it. He nibbled and smothered the sugar all over his face and thoroughly enjoy every minute! He held onto his yummy treat for over an HOUR!! Ü
