Update

Family and friends,

We are heartbroken to post this update. Katy arrived at court today very hopeful in getting Devin back and the system has failed them once again.

The court appointed attorney that has been working with Katy went on maternity leave last week and reassigned Devin's file to another individual. This representative felt incapable of making a judgement because he wasn't familiar with the case, so the judge dismissed the case and postponed it for 30 days. Their new court hearing date is December 21st. Katy's personal attorney failed to attend the hearing because of her inability to remember the correct court date and since she didn't attend and was unable to protest the dismissal on Katy's behalf the judges judgement remains concrete. Needless to say, Katy no longer has a personal attorney and will be seeking representation elsewhere and Devin remains in foster care.

We understand that many of you are probably outraged by this news, as are we and so are the Adams family. We need your support more than ever. Please do not let anger and disappointment overcome you. Please turn your frustrations into prayer so Katy can have her precious boy back before CHRISTmas. Please pray that Katy can feel God's peace and LOVE. Please pray that the next 30 days are swift and that the Adams family may find happiness in knowing that Devin remains safe and healthy and our God will make this right in HIS time.

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:10-12

  4. Obviously this has stunned everyone into silence while we try to take this all in! It is so wrong...absolutely unjust...that's for sure.
But at the end of the day we must all continue to stand TOGETHER as one not only in prayer but in the firm belief that all the wrongs WILL be righted and this family will find peace once again as they wrap their boy in his own home soon. As always ceaselessly praying. xo

  5. Took a long time today but I made myself start at the beginning of this blog and relive every second of this story. I relived it from the moment I got the first phone call. Feel so emotionally drained living it all again...BUT I did so to remember that through all of the many lows and devastating moments, the highs were extraordinary. Many of the highs and lows happened within hours of one another and continually ripped at our hearts...but after walking around unable to stay ontask with anything today, a day that has been one of hope, then shock, then anger, then sorrow, and reliving Devin's last 56 days, I find that the big picture reveals the "MIRACLE"! Devin is alive and well on his way to an extraordinary recovery. His family is ready at all times to bring him back to where he belongs, and there are sooooo many people around the world who have taken him into their hearts! Are we sad and feel desparate? Absolutely. BUT in our hearts don't we all TRULY BELIEVE HIS WILL BE DONE? Devin WILL come home to his mommy and family. And we will all be better for having been graced with this child. Through this experience we are being given great avenues to help others. Pay the goodness Forward at all times... Blessings to you all Prayer Warriors. You are AMAZING! xo

  9. Praying that the system will see what a travesty this is and put baby Devin back where he belongs. Whatever needs to be done to make this happen I know there are so many people standing beside you. Say the word and we will do ANYTHING for you. God Bless and remember you are in our prayers at all times.

  10. Has it truly been almost two months? Seriously has it not felt like forever? As we all continue to follow this child's journey and feel as if we are a part of his life...breathing in and out daily with whispers of hope and asking GOD to PLEASE continue to heal him and bring him back to those who ask daily for his and HIS presence in their lives...We who have been given the gift of going about our everyday...we who have been given the TRUE understanding of what a gift we are given each moment, want only to have Devin placed in thee arms of those who know what his and HIS worth is. If you don't get this, I pray someday you will. It is the ultimate high...Glory Be To GOD...It is why we are all standing in this ocean in time...to splash about in the joy that is DEVIN...

  11. Oh I loved this "Splashing around in the joy that is Devin". We have had some real ups and downs lately. We had forgotten to praise God for what he has done and not to bemoan Him because we don't have him home! Devin is alive and well, Praise God! When I go back to the beginning of this blog and see where God has brought Devin from, AMAZING!!!!!!!
My top ten list: To Praise God
    Devin is alive!
God is working behind the scenes!
    Devin is safe!
    Devin will not remember this!
People have come to know Christ!
    We believe in miracles again!
We have been supported beyond all our dreams!
Devin never cries, he is always happy!
Devin has friends in now 16 different countries!
This blog has been hit over 100 thousand times!
We have Lori who is doing this blog for us and has given beautiful words to our mumblings! Thank you dear Lori and all our prayer warriors!

  12. "the system has failed them once again"

Keeping a child out of the harms way does not sound like a failure on the part of the justice system. Failure would be allowing a child back into a neglectful, abusive home in which sins are apparently washed clean without owning up to them. May God have mercy on the souls of this family.
